Now some additional information regarding the buses:

1) from airport to Bergamo station: bus line 1 ("Airport Bus"). Is leaves just outside the international arrivals, and in takes you to the bus/train station in at about 15 minutes. You should have no problem in buying the ticket inside the airport (at least in the airport you'll easily find someone english-speaking...)

2) From Bergamo to Foppolo: leave the airport bus at the train station (1), buy the ticket for Foppolo (look for the sign "Biglietteria") at (2), and wait for the blue bus at (3) (you should read "Piazza Brembana" on it, as you have to change there - by the way, you can ask to the drivers for the bus to Foppolo, just to be sure). You can buy also the ticket for Carona, otherwise you can buy it in Carona when you'll be on your way back.
The timetable (http://www.bergamotrasporti.it/upload/o ... i/B50d.pdf) says the bus leaves at 10.15.



You will reach Piazza Brembana at 11.25 (1). There you have to change, and take the bus to Foppolo (usually parked at (2).



In Foppolo, you will reach a large parking lot: the trail starts just there.

3) From Carona to Bergamo: again you will have to change in Piazza Brembana. The bus leaves at 17.05. Where the trail descending from Laghi Gemelli ends, walk around the lake, than go to the center of the village. The bus leaves below the main church, and you can buy the ticket at "Bar del Centro" (20 m from the bus stop).
Again, in Piazza Brembana change and take the bus to Bergamo, which will take you back to the station.

Hum... well I feel quite stupid, but I cannot phone the 2 others rifugi... Maybe I'm not making the good number, but I try several combinations without succes!

So If it's not too much asking...
could someone

I print my "special book" today, with some maps.
My bag is almost ready.

I phoned the huts - reservations made.

Btw, the prefix for calls to italian numbers should be +39 (from cell phone) or 0039 (from land line) - so the phone numbers are
+39 0345 77070 for Rifugio Longo
+39 0345 77047 for Rifugio Calvi
should you need to call them.

One last note:

chairlifts should be running on next saturday in Foppolo - if you want to save some time on your first day of trekking, you can use them to skip the ascent from Foppolo to Passo della Croce.
You can either use only the first one (from Foppolo to Quarta Baita), and reach the road which will take you to the pass, or take the second, too (from Quarta Baita to Montebello), which will take you above the pass (you will then have a 5 min walk descent).
