As I told you last year, some friends of Valbrembanaweb will be happy to came whit you to the Arch.
As regard the distance it's about 2,30 hs. Last 30 ms. hard walk in a wild nature.
Let me know whit MP your arrival time: I'll organize your journey.

Hi Ugo,

The problem is to name the exact date, because it depends on the weather.
We are on tour in the week of 18th to 24th of May looking for arches and hoodoos in Austria and in Italy.
So I guess it will be at May 20th or 21st.

Will be the Passo di San Marco open at this week?

This is a really good question ... The province of Sondrio doesn't care a lot about that road, so is impossible to know when they are going to clean the road (They are worst than the weather) ...

Hi Gunter,

I would like to update you about the current situation in Passo San Marco area. I don't know if there are official announcements regarding its opening, but I have been there on last Saturday and I saw a lot of snow on south slopes as well. So, basing on the last ten years Provincia's behavior when similar conditions happened (Provincia should be delegated to open it, at least as far as I know), I guess it will be quite difficult it will open on May this year. But this is just my modest opinion, hoping that it will occur as soon as possible!

Hi All,

the last rumors I heard are saying the date of San Marco Pass opening on both sides (including North under Sondrio province) should be next June, about the 13th!!!

This is not an official announcement, but I think it is quite reliable.

I let you know if any different date will be announced.
